PTF MINUTES
MONROE CONSOLIDATED
SCHOOL
JANUARY 3, 2012
The meeting commenced at 6:30 PM in the school library with
the following members present: Jody
Oliver, Cathy Currier, Teri Dimas, Raegan Colburn, Regina Webster, Stephanie
Morris, Deb Fiske and Glenna Hart.
November PTF minutes were approved by Stephanie Morris and Teri
Dimas. The treasurer gave her report as
follows:
December Balance - $6,317.96
January Balance - $8,699.42
Congratulations to those who sold Yankee candles as we made
a substantial profit of $1,370.40 which was amazing.
Our Annual silent auction at the craft fair yielded a profit
of $1,283.48 which is even more amazing because this is our highest profit
ever.
Believe it or not, we are still selling cookbooks and our
latest overall profit is $578.06. It is
gracious of Bobbi Ann Fearon for selling some cookbooks on behalf of the PTF so
thank you for your help.
Due to the PTF's continual efforts with fundraising this
year, there is no fundraising activity necessary for the Spring so we can all
breathe a little easier for a short while.
The Childrens' Stage Adventures will once again be coming to
the Monroe School to help our children perform in a play. This will occur from March 12th
through March 16th. We
appreciate our teacher flexibility and know that the entire community will
benefit from this project. Cathy
Currier found a pianist, Gloria Moore, to accompany the children in this play
and we appreciate her voluntary efforts and know that everyone will
succeed. She did terrific last time in Oliver
Twist. The actors who are working
with our children will be lodging at the Nootka Lodge in Woodsville and our
lodging costs $824.04. This will cover the expense of two rooms for
five nights.
Thank you to all those members and older children who helped
out to make our Christmas Craft and Movie Day successful. The kids had a great time and we are already
thinking on improvements for doing this again next year.
We are considering doing a movie night in February but we
will need to research Town Hall availability and a time that is the most
convenient for everyone.
The PTF discussed Jody Oliver's idea to do a party in May
(Cinco de Mayo) which would be an opportunity for the children and the adults
to get together outside of the school setting.
More details will be available in months to come.
Please join us for our next meeting in February which will
be Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Let's all
make it a great 2012.
Respectfully Submitted,
Catherine J.
